This case report describes woman in her late 70s with decreased visual acuity in the right eye, which on imaging showed leakage at the level of the inner retina due to an intraretinal vascular complex and, separately, choroidal neovascularization under the retinal pigment epithelium.

A woman in her late 70s presented with decreased visual acuity in her right eye. Imaging showed leakage at the level of the inner retina (Figure, A) due to an intraretinal vascular complex and, separately, choroidal neovascularization under the retinal pigment epithelium. The choroidal new vessel was visualized on optical coherence tomography (Figure, B) and was apparently not in communication with the intraretinal vascular abnormality. This finding could represent choroidal neovascularization associated with concomitant, independent intraretinal vascular abnormalities, or it might indicate an inability to visualize the vascular connection between the choroidal neovascularization and the intraretinal vascular abnormalities.1
