ABSTRACT

To the Editor:—The following inquiries have been received pertaining to my paper, entitled, "Specific Treatment of Ophthalmic Tuberculosis with a New Tuberculosis Antigen `A O,' " in the August issue of the Archives, page 161. As ophthalmologists in general may be interested in them, I am sending the answers for publication:

  1. Where is A O to be obtained? It can be obtained at Arimakenkiujo Ebie Nishinariku, Osaka, Japan.

  2. When you are using a single optimal dose, do you always give it at four day intervals, and for how long a period?

  3. For fifteen years I have been using only the optimal dose, but during the past year I have used A O, no. 1, 1 cc. for the optimal dose, for adults, every eight days.

  4. What method have you found the best for diagnosis, the subcutaneous reaction to tuberculin or the Mantoux intradermal test? Patients are
