Cryosurgical Removal of Epithelial Cyst of Iris and Anterior Chamber

A number of techniques are available for treatment of epithelial cysts of the anterior chamber.1 Recently, cryosurgery has also been used for this purpose, but apparently without success.2 The following case report describes the successful cryosurgical removal of an epithelial cyst of the anterior chamber in a patient who had undergone several unsuccessful attempts at cyst removal with other techniques in the past.

Report of Case  In April 1963, a 75-year-old woman underwent extraction of her right lens because of a cataract. The immediate postoperative course was said to be uneventful. She was lost to follow-up for a period of time, but when seen in December 1964, a cyst was present in the anterior chamber of the right eye. The cyst filled the inferior one third of the chamber and its posterior wall appeared adherent to the iris stroma. The cornea was slightly edematous. Ocular tension, as recorded
