ABSTRACT

Awards Given. —Fight for Sight, Inc, has announced that it has given 75 awards during 1981 and 1982, totaling $454,549. These included 27 grants-in-aid, two departmental awards, five clinical research service grants, 20 postdoctoral research fellowships, ten student fellowships, nine travel awards, and two citations.The Achievement in Basic Research Award went to Ann H. Bunt, PhD, and John C. Saari, PhD, from the University of Washington, Seattle. The Achievement in Clinical Research Award went to Hugh R. Taylor, MD, Robert A. Prendergast, MD, and Arthur M. Silverstein, PhD, from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and Chandler R. Dawson, MD, and Julius Schachter, PhD, from the University of California, San Francisco.Applications for research support are now being welcomed. The closing date is March 1, 1982.
