As with other books in the Color Atlas of Ophthalmic Surgery series, this book on cataract surgery is beautifully illustrated and clearly written. The authors have allocated the first 50 pages of the book to the preoperative evaluation, calculating the intraocular lens power, informing the patient, planning the intraocular lens (including selection of intraocular lens type and power), choosing the method of anesthesia, and preparing for surgery. In the first six chapters, all aspects of the preoperative workup of a patient undergoing cataract surgery are discussed in great detail.
