I congratulate Dr Kitchens on his excellent “Surgeon's Corner” report and video on external needle drainage of subretinal fluid.1 I presented this technique at the Retina Society in 1998. The guarded needle described in the Kitchens report is available from Beaver/Visitec (BD product No. 585224).
