RT Journal A1 Arevalo J, Arias JD, Serrano MA T1 ORal propranolol for exudative retinal detachment in diffuse choroidal hemangioma JF Archives of Ophthalmology JO Archives of Ophthalmology YR 2011 FD October 1 VO 129 IS 10 SP 1373 OP 1375 DO 10.1001/archophthalmol.2011.294 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archophthalmol.2011.294 AB The main abnormality of the uveal tract in patients with Sturge-Weber syndrome is diffuse choroidal hemangioma (DCH). Diffuse choroidal hemangioma can lead to a total retinal detachment and secondary neovascular glaucoma. Radiotherapy and photodynamic therapy are currently the preferred methods of treatment. Low-dose lens-sparing radiotherapy or proton beam irradiation can induce tumor regression and resolution of subretinal fluid.1 Short-term treatment success using photodynamic therapy has also been reported.2
