We read with interest the recent article by Rhee et al.1 They
proposed that ciliary body swelling might have contributed to acute myopia
and bilateral angle-closure glaucoma associated with the oral administration
of topiramate (Topamax; Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Raritan, NJ). Their B-scan
ultrasonogram demonstrates ciliary body swelling, as they described, but the
posterior portion of the swollen ciliary body splits into several layers from
the center toward the left side of Figure 2C (the portion described as the
"anterior chamber angle").1(p1723)
