AB This volume contains the presentations and round-table discussions of the 12th meeting of the Club Jules Gonin in March 1980. There are more than 50 articles covering many aspects of diseases of the choroid, the retina, and the vitreous. Some of the contributions, in the meantime, have been published in other journals. Two of the sessions were dedicated to retinal pathology, one to vitreous surgery, one to microsurgery of retinal detachment, and one to diabetic retinopathy. This is, indeed, a diversified set of topics, and, sometimes, it gets a little heavy for somebody who is not an expert in the particular field. The round-table discussions make fascinating reading (the one on the macula will be published independently in Ophthalmologica). This book should be of great interest to the growing number of experts on the retina and the vitreous.
