By means of a separate, suturesecured fiberoptic endoilluminator and a modified infusion cannula located in the inferior quadrants, two superior sclerotomies are kept free for the use of a variety of simple and complex instruments, alone or in combination. Included among these are vitreous scissors, forceps, picks, spatulas, diathermy probes, and endophotocoagulators.
