TY - JOUR T1 - A study guide for glaucoma AU - Phelps CD Y1 - 1983/01/01 N1 - 10.1001/archopht.1983.01040010143031 JO - Archives of Ophthalmology SP - 141 EP - 141 VL - 101 IS - 1 N2 - This well-organized book is more than a mere study guide. The text can stand by itself. Its 35 chapters cover, in great detail, all aspects of glaucoma. The first chapters deal with aqueous humor dynamics, measurement of intraocular pressure, the optic nerve head, and the visual fields. Subsequent chapters cover all of the clinical forms of glaucoma. The final chapters deal with glaucoma therapy. However, it is as a guide to the literature that the book achieves its raison d'ĂȘtre. The references are extensive. The average number of references per chapter is 78, and ten of the chapters contain more than 100 references. This extensive bibliography is up to date and comprehensive; I was unable to find a single important recent reference that had been omitted. The value of the bibliography is increased by an index of authors. This book is not necessarily the place for a beginner to first SN - 0003-9950 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archopht.1983.01040010143031 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archopht.1983.01040010143031 ER -
